In Xinying, Tainan, there was a blessing and lighting event hosted by Tainan Buddhist monks. People gathered to pray for the elimination of natural disasters, and Tzu Chi volunteers were invited to participate, and they also grasped the cause and effect to promote environmental protection concepts.
Everyone put their hands together and chanted Buddhist scriptures under the guidance of the monks. The solemn ceremony was held at the Xinying Stadium.
Master Chuanhui, chairman of the Tainan City Sangha Protection Association, said: “The Tainan Buddhist Sangha Protection Association held this event with great care to pray and light the lamps, and also bathe the Buddha so that the Dharma can stay in the world for a long time.”
During the blessing and lighting event, many people participated in bathing the Buddha and prayed for the earthquake victims.
Tzu Chi volunteer Huang Xiuju: “We all came to tell the audience about the earthquake in Myanmar. Let’s pray together and bless them together. It is really a very auspicious fate.”
Tzu Chi volunteers were invited to assist the surrounding vegetarians to promote environmental protection and recycling at the garden party. The volunteers seized the fate and promoted the concept of environmental protection!
Volunteers kept shuttling back and forth at the venue and set up recycling bags at designated locations so that the public could respond to vegetarianism and understand the importance of environmental protection!
Schoolchild Zhan Peiying: “It feels good to have recyclable and non-recyclable items because it can let everyone know the importance of environmental protection.”
Natural disasters are ruthless, but people are kind. The master led everyone to gather good thoughts and pray for no disasters in the world!
