Buddhist University has announced that it will launch a new logo and identity with the slogan “A World Full of Gratitude” from April 1, 2025. The new slogan reflects the history of the university’s mission to uphold the Buddhist spirit, value interpersonal relationships, and cultivate compassion for others.
Buddhist University Launches New Logo and Slogan
We felt that it was important to clearly express the university’s philosophy in the current turbulent social atmosphere, so the faculty and staff worked together to develop this new slogan. The word “thank you” is more than just a greeting; it expresses gratitude to others. These words are filled with the warmth of caring for and supporting each other, and Buddhist University is determined to carry out educational and research activities based on this spirit.
About the New Logo Design
The new logo is based on the Chinese character “佛” (the name of Buddhist University) and the letter “B”. The design is inspired by the image of people reaching out to each other, supporting each other, and connecting with each other, and its bold Gothic font conveys a sense of solemn power. In addition, the display color adopts a blue-purple color that gives an intellectual and sophisticated impression, and is named “BUKKYO PURPLE”, taken from the place name “紫野”, to emphasize the new brand image.
Slogan Meaning and Statement
Our new slogan “A world filled with gratitude” has a profound meaning. The words “thank you” can make us happy, and the person who says it and the person who receives it can feel the same. I hope it can help people understand each other and create happiness regardless of age, race, or country.
Buddhist University values encounters and exchanges between people, and we always cherish the word “thank you” no matter how the times change. The university aims to cultivate talents who can help people in difficulties and suffering, connect people with society, and spread the spirit of “gratitude” throughout the world.
